It cost about 12 and thought it''ll be easier than making one. I probably need a pitch guage for my new heli Is the helimax's guage good enough?

thanks

It sucks!!!

The Helimax training gear is the worst I have ever seen!!! I wouldn't take a set if it was given to me.

The Helimax is so wobbily that it makes your heli hard to fly. And that is the last thing you need when learning. It has plastic legs that vibrate and shake your heli. Just ask Compumise what he thinks of the Helimax training gear!!!

I went ahead and got the Rotopod and love it, it is super sturdy but it is rather expensive. If you don't want to spend the dough, make your own. It's easy and works great!!

Good luck,

Brooks

I totally agree with Shaggy

It almost made me crash many times. My wife saved the heli a couple of times when the gear fell apart (shocked me).

Yes, it does suck.

My heli broke two of the fiberglass sticks upon my first attempt at hover.

I recycled the red balls, bought four more whiffle balls, four wood dowels, and zip tied it all to my landing gear in a "tic tac toe" configuration.

i agree with BladeRunner - Hula-Hoop. Least amount of training gear induced oscillations IMO.

My helimax gear shaked so bad it made the entire chopper go nuts with the gyro.. almost crashed.. Then on the 2nd flight, the one gear strut comes loose and hangs straight down.. This was only my 2nd hover, so I had to touch the heli gently and then let it drift to the side since the gear was straight down, and pressing against the chassis now.. otherwise it was kinda like balancing a heli on a baseball bat

Almost bought rotopods, but chanced it without gear.. never regretted it yet..

Its a hunk a CRAP!!!

I bought some 3/8" dowels, made an H with double middle and put the firm grey pipe insulation around the two side sticks then zip tied it on. Works great! Really light too!!!

why buy training gear anyway???

when u can simply take four 1.5 meter 8mm wood sticks that costs about $2 and than put them together with zip ties to the skids like that:
