e-JR Voyager E > Voyager E wobble

I picked up a JR VE that has a Hacker C40-10S and 40-3P controller. It has a 15 tooth pinion and I'm running 8-cell NIMHs. Problem is I can't get the thing above 1430 at 100% and after the power starts dropping, I get a serious wobble and things go downhill from there.

My thoughts are this can be fixed by increasing the headspeed (I would like 1500-1600 anyway), but wanted to post here to see what other options might be available. The FXA e-Heli Calc says this combo gets around 1402 head speed... which seems way too low for this heli and that a 17t or 18t would put it in range.

Also, where the heck can I get pinions? I can't seem to find them separately. Dale

My LHS stocks car pinions in the Traxxas brand, 32 pitch. They work perfectly.
