Lift,

Naaaa... that's not it... Yes I only have few flights on the machine... But I have been able to build it TWICE DOH! During the first build and the rebuild I found myself comparing the Fury construction to everything else I have worked on. Just in construction alone I find that I prefer the design of the Freya over and above all others. The Sceadu design is obviously second.

Having to rebuild a Freya compared to the Fury, I find that I can have a Freya flying sooner than a Fury. My biggest example would be main shaft replacement. On the Freya it's simple. On the Fury, all those damn shims & collars. ARG... I am not fond of shims. I always believe if a part is correctly made and factory tollerences are kept then shims are not needed. This is the voice of an ex-machinest and Jet aircraft mechanic talking. And Oh BTW, the F-16 and Other fighter jets do have shims.. I HATE EM!

Simply, for a persons "second" Heli I would say avoid a Fury till you have built more than just one machine. For me the Fury was my 6th ground up construction. Also... The CCPM set up, the directions are so veage on the set up it's not funny. I was amazed how anal the directions where till I got to radio set-up. They where so bad that I found myself second guessing everything. Very frustrating, after seaking some advice on the WWW. I was reasured buy the answers I got.

Oh, and as for top pilots endorsing a product...SO... They go where the money is and so would I. BUT, I'm far from there skill level and not shy about admiting that.

I in NO WAY am saying the Fury is a bad machine. Just not one of my top listed 2nd heli machines.

I am not here to tell you what bird to buy! X-Cell, Hirobo, TT, Robbe, and JR are all good machines.

This is my experience and you draw your own conclusions. I started with a raptor 30 and flew it for 8 months. My second heli is a Fury 80. I had no problems building it and I thought the ccpm set up was easier. I like the two frame halves, which allow you to get to all of the mechanics easily. The canopy covers all the mechanics so they hardly get oily when flying inverted. The Fury is a very well engineered and high quality machine (you get what you pay for.) If you compare the build time and complexity to a Raptor 30 there are double the parts. The Fury manual is fairly good and the build time will take you a couple of days verse an evening for the Raptor.

In addition, don't let the larger size scare you! Larger helis are more stable in the wind. You may want to wait to get a new ship until you can do loops, rolls, stall turns, etc.

There are only 2 drawbacks to a larger machine 1) Higher cost to repair 2) You will go from 1gallon of fuel=16 Raptor tanks to 6 to 8 tanks per gallon for the larger birds. I am getting 6 ten-minute flights from a gallon of fuel with a ys 80 you will definitely want to think this item through! I am burning 2 gallons of 30% per week=$160 per month in fuel. (Almost a car payment wow!)

If you want first hand flight experience my Fury is fast as hell and it will out run my friends Freya! Both of us are running ys80s and ksj mufflers and v-blades and 30% Cool Power. My friend is a factory pilot for Hirobo and is pictured with the Hirobo reps at this years Vegas fun fly so, he is very experienced and he agrees with me! I think the speed is due to the Fury being a pound lighter then the Freya.

It will cost more to fix the Fury then the Freya especially if you spend $140 to paint your canopy and fins. You definitely will not out grow the 60 or 80 however; I think I would skip the 50 heli unless money is an issue. If it is several people at our field have converted their TT30s to 50s and they fly great!!!!! I even converted mine.

In reference to the above post: the manual is vague about the ccpm set up. I made a crude set up manual if anyone wants it....

If you have any questions or would like more in-depth info email me!
