setup on a 540 is extremely easy, the book over complicates it but here we go from memory but i have done many times.....inhibit any revomix (if u move the throttle stick up and down on any mode the tail shouldn't move). Next check direction of ur rudder channel. Plug the gain plug from the gyro into the spare channel in ur rcvr...prob the gear channel (5?). Set the rudder atv (which controls the the max rate of rotation) to 85+/- in bot directions. Set the gain of the gear(?) channel to 50 in both directions. Later max that out until the tail wags in forward flight than back it off a little. Neutral trim. servo arm 90 deg to pushrod should have about 6 degrees at tail.

With the switch in Heading lock postion (usually away from u/forward), if u move ur rudder stick a little ways in one direction and hold it, the servo should move all the way to the end. If not then u should reverse the gear channel.

Ok now to prog 540. Turn off heli (leave radio on) and as soon as u turn it on flip ur rudder switch back and fourth about 3 time until the rudder servo moves back and forth on its on own a couple times which means ur in setup mode.

move the rudder stick to left and right the super servo light should go on and off, if u have a high speed servo (faster than .12) than put on super servo (light on) if not light off. Flip the switch again. Servo will move back and forth to tell u accepted.

Next set reverse, (stick left and right.....light on and off).......50/50 shot u get this right first time. (After completing setup, if servo moves wrong direcition when u check gyro reverse, go through setup again and set it the opposite...light on/off) Flip the switch again. Servo goes back and forth acknowledgeing u, to next step, end point adj. so u don't overdrive servo.

Move rudder stick left and right, notice that if u hold over a little, the rudder arm slowly goes until it binds in tail case, back off a little so it doesn't bind and flip switch, repeat for other direcition so it doesn't bind.

Flip switch again, servo will cylcle twice telling u setup is complete, turn helicopter off and on to accept it. Never move heli or rudder sticks for 5 sec after heli turned on (calibration)

Check servo direction reverse if necessary. Rudder ATV does max rate of rotation (pirouette speed). Thats it.....Takes less than 1 min once u do it a couple times. U should be able to find the directions on the web, but this explantion should be pretty complete, let me know if u can't find them. Good Luck.
