Does anyone at Bergen RC ever check and answer their email? Just wondering. I sent two separate email questions and have never received a response. Anyone else had any luck with them?

Thanks,

Pete

I sent an E to Miniature Aircraft all most 2 weeks ago and have never received an answer, and I sent Bergen an E on Wednesday and they have not answered yet !! Boy, I sure would like to know if Bergen is going to produce an ECCPM gasser !!,,, and when Miniature Aircraft is going to release there new ECCPM Fury Gasser !!,,, but if these manufactures get 500 E mails a day or even a week, well, thats seems like a lot of E mails to answer,,, but still, they should be answering !!!!

Bergen Questions

The first question I sent March 1st and was about the Intrepid 46 canopy. I wanted to know if it would fit an XCell 40 with the Bergen G10 Frame set.

The second question I sent was about a week ago, I asked if the lower frame plates for 30/40 G10 Frame set for the XCell were available seperately. And what the part numbers are so I could order them.

Maybe these questions do not seem important enough to respond to. Maybe the sale possibility is not great enough. Maybe the profit margin on a small sale is not enough. I don't know. All I do know is that my mail has not been answered. My helicopter is still broken and I will order the MA stacked frames to fix it. Yes, I will spend over $100 to fix what should only cost me about $50.

If the frame parts were that important why don't you call them using the phone 616-445-2060. As far as the 46 canopy goes it will fit but you'll have to make some mounts for it.

Gee, lets see, maybe because they have their email address posted and I am located in SOUTH KOREA.

The point of the original post was: If you have an email address for questions and support, you should answer the email in a prompt fashion. If you are over burdened with email, maybe it's time to get some help. Not whether or not Bergen was a good company, made good products or if you could call them.

The reason I will go with the MA parts is that I have numerous Retailers that I have emailed regularly and always get a response within a couple of days. They all carry MA parts.

Thanks for the info on the Canopy, I may still go with it.

I did not mean this to be a flame against Bergen. Just wanted to know if other folks were having the same problem or if I was an isolated case.

Thanks,

Pete

E-mails

Well, you caught me!! I apologize for the delay in answering all my e-mails. You are correct in the assumption that I get quite a few e-mails every day, and I do prioritize them in a fashion. The easy to answer ones go out almost immediately, but the ones that require a little research do take some more time. For instance, putting an Intrepid 46 canopy on an x-cell 30 is something I have never done, so I have to try it and see what is required.

The eccpm Intrepid gasser is another difficult one to answer. When you have the "purest" control system already available, trying to figure the best way to produce a eccpm version for the few who may want such a thing is tough!!

I will answer all of these questions when I can give the best answer, and not just send you something off the top of my head.

While we're on the subject, What would you like to see in an eccpm gasser? 3 servo or 4? what options should be standard? What kind of price range would be acceptable?

Give me some ideas, and we'll see where it leads.

HeeHeeheehee,,, Here we go,,, 4 servos 90-dergee ECCPM,, NO bell-cranks, a direct link from the servos to the swash-plate!!,, servos must mount horizontal in the frame-plates like the Vario Benzin (if the servos are mounted against the frame vertically they may be to close the the main gear !!) , and if the servos are mounted in the frame as the Benzin, maybe a servo stiffening plate or a rail should be used to help keep the frame-plates from flexing,, turnbuckles for linkage rods,, servo wire retainers,, 3 double BB blocks on the main shaft,, give me a few days and I'll think of some more stuff ...

Pricing,,, it seems to me that a ECCPM system would be cheaper to manufacture than the mechanical system, (I imagined that the Bergen's Collective Pitch Control Arm and there Elevator Control System are expensive parts !!), if the Collective Pitch Control Arm is eliminated, and the Elevator Control System is eliminated, if the bell-cranks and if some of the servo tray is eliminatad (but not knowing what these parts are priced at in the kit) all this should lower the price some $250/$300 maybe more, Now adding 1 bearing to each main bearing block would rase the price some $60/$75 maybe less,,, so I would think this heli could be priced at $1100 with the motor !!,
So, do I get to name this new heli too ? how about the ""BGH Z28 Jet""

Chris,

The Intrepid gasser is perfect!!!!!!!! A little bit more power and it would even better. Even though CCPM is the latest fad and smart choice for a general purpose heli your mechanical set up is ideal for precision flying.
