Just wondering if CMT 680mm carbon blades are any good? I have been reading that some people have been having trouble with them suddenly going out of track!?, Is this true?, Anybody using these blades, been having trouble with them?. What is the flight characteristics of these blades? Any info I can get regarding these blades would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!, Joe...

CMT 680s

I would be interested in hearing what heli you guys are flying? I fly CMT 680s on my Fury 60 Expert and have had no problems with them at all. I honostly have been fairly impressed. I have flown SABs in the past as well, and see relatively no difference. Anyone else out there with good stories? Hoping to find a nice pair of MAs soon!!

I tried the CMT CF680s as well on the Freya and while I still taking off, the blades went out of track. My flying wasn't as good back then and the blades struck the boom.

However, I did try the CMT Fiberglass 680 blades some months later and they lasted a really looong time with no problems.

The CMT CF 550s are one of the best value blades though.

I've had some 580's that weren't a problem and some 680's that flew just fine, but did the woof and poof on my Xcell while hovering inverted. I wouldn't buy another set. Steve.

CMT's

I have a set of 600's on my GPH and during inverted portions of loops with holding inverted or rolls from inverted, I get the same woof. Occassionally the blades would need to be adjusted in the tracking. Thought it was my head, but now I wonder. Might be time for a set of V blades.

The CMT's were a leap ahead of the woodies, I don't think I would buy another set either. Besides, giving business to HHI is the LAST thing I would do.

You should check the cord CG. It sounds like the cord CG is to far aft. Hang both blades by the bolt holes and see if they are parrallel with each other and is the leading edge vertical. If they are as I suspect the cord CG is to far aft. The CG should be in line with the bolt holes. If you have a Koll Rotor Pro ballencer you can check the cord CG. I had a set of 580 that caused sever pitch up problems that were traced to this same thing. Once you pitch the blade with the CG to far aft the front of the blade will hook up and create either a pitch up or if only one blade is out an out of track situation.

To say the are crappy blades is an understatement. Any one without a highschool education can say that. I told you why they are crappy blades.

I have been using CMT 680 for 18 months and CMT 600 for 2 years now. I know many pilots that use them as well.

They perform great I use the 680's on a XCELL SE
and the 600's on the JR ERGO 50 and Voyager 50

They balance well and I have no problems with tracking. They perform well in Auto's and handle 3D flying excellent.

The only other blades I have used where SAB's so I cannot compare to V Blades etc.
