Miniature Aircraft Nitro/Gas Helicopters > YS OR OS - that is the quesiton

I posted this question on the engine area, as well:

I would like an engine that runs on the much cheaper 15 % fuel, and has more power for WHEN I mess up.

I like my OS 61 WC, and it has a like for Cool power 30%, but even with the increased fuel consumpsion rate, a 80 or 91 will be cheaper to run IF I use 15% fuel. And from what I hear, even on 15%, they have plenty of power.

Here is the question:

Does the YS 80 run well on 15%? I know it will run, but will it run WELL? (the YS 61 really requires 30% for best results)

The OS 91 is an option, and I know it runs OK on 15%, but to tell you the truth, I have not seen great results from it yet. I have a few buddies using the 91, and they are constantly fiddling with the needles trying to get it running right. I am sure it is a great engine, but I see that YS is a little easier in the tuning department.

I have always liked my OS 61 WC, because I never have to mess with it. IT only needs 2-3 clicks + or - from summer to winter, but other than that, just burn fuel with it. I would like my new "big block" to be this good-tempered.

OH, for those who answer, you probally already know about mufflers:
Which one? Hatori, KSJ, or Zimmerman?

I know for a fact the 80 runs beatifully on 15% fuel with good power. It'll even run like a watch on 5% fuel (SMOOTH). I'm using 20% for just a bit more power, and I still save a sig. amount of money per gallon. I guess I've lost a few minutes of run time per flight, but the 80 isn't anywhere near to guzzler the 91 is. I know I'm getting more flight time than the 9-ish average minutes that most get on a Fury with a 20 ounce tank. If I were running 15% fuel, the run times would be VERY close to a STII on 30%. Needle settings are classic YS set and fly and fly and fly......

Other benefits of the fuel/motor switch include much lower noise and a lot less smoke. The 80 runs happily on a fuel with 17-20% oil. SB15 Hatori muffler. We use 8.18:1 in contest models. 3D pilots will likely prefer 8.45:1.

Hope this help.
