I had a couple of bearings missing from my new kit and he sent them out to me. I didn't want to hassle him about all these plastic bits, so I had a friend of mine (machinist) "fix" them for me already.
I was just suprised to see such great machining quality, and yet poor plastic molding?? There was absolutely no flashing getting in the way of the bearings. (At least I didn't have to line bore , ream and sleeve the head block like I had to with the Raptor :+(
For example look at the bellcranks, with everything centered, the bellcranks are supposed to be level (pivot point to ball), well why couldn/'t they mold the bellcranks at a 90 degree angle, so it would be easier to "eyeball"??? Even the antirotation bracket for the swashplate would not fit in the frames properly, I had to cut quite a bit of material off it to make the bolt hole line up.
No big deal, just small details that could easily be fixed, (just maybe about 10 grand in new molds :+).
Please dont' get me wrong, i'm not complaining, I do like the heli very much (design wise), as I haven't flown it yet. Just waiting on Mark Kiner to put his MOJO to it first :+)
I saw some bellcranks on Heli-proz site and they sure are proud of those. Maybe I'll stick with the plastic ones :+)
Thanks again fellas,
