Here is a picture of the place I fly at, the brown house with the pond.
the grassy area next to the pond is the actual flying field. It measures 220 ft long and 200 ft wide with no obstructions except for the pond of course. My question is this, is this area big enough for a funfly??? I have been pondering this Idea but the guys I fly with kinda think that the in close flying area is limited to around two people at a time unless you are confortable flying over fields. It is not an AMA flying field, actually my parents backyard, but AMA will be required to fly there. Right now we have 4 people in our little "Clan" but we would love to get together with more heli pilots. Well what do you think is it good enough for a get together or a typical funfly??? Thanks

is it big enough

In my opinon, it to small that is if the flying site is to the left of the pond when looking at the first picture. Sure is a nice site. We had dust and sand around our houses in Vegas. That type of property makes me want to move out that way.

I would agree with alan...

But what if you used the area you fly in right now as the Pit area and maybe got the farmers permission to fly in the fields on either side?
Now that would be a nice area.......

There's a LHS that has an area not as big as yours and there are guys with big 1/3 scale Extra 300's, that can fly there.......as far as heli's go there's nothing wrong with what your have. Anybody remember the Ricks RC Funfly? Not too BIG there either but lots of folks showed up and flew.
What I'm saying is ........Just Do It! If your not going after AMA sanctioning (Official contest) and you do not fly over a major highway then your clear to have a good time FUN event.
Just limit how many can fly at a time and designate AIRSPACE for each.
