I am looking to buy a Vario Bell UH-1D with Petrol mechanics. Which Vario distributor would be recomended for this purchase? I have not had much luck finding this heli or associated mechanics (ie. distributors, prices, part numbers...) on the internet. Any help would be appreciated.

The new UH1-D for Petrol has not been released yet. Vario does have the 205 Huey for gas if that is what you mean. I stock that kit.

They are having an issue getting Benzins right now.
Germany is back ordered on a part or two.

I got one of the last ones. But since all of the Vario stuff that comes in to the USA goes through Variousa first they would be the ones to call.

Just my 2 cents.

Can't recommend Joe Howard enough at East Coast Scale helis. I'm sure the rest are great too but Joe is always there to help and never expects anything in return. He loves this hobby.

Consider Josef at www.variousa.net, as he has some special petrol frames with a CCPM modification where the servos are all mounted near the mast. Not sure if this change is available through other Vario channels. It comes out much nicer than having the servo tray up front.

Well I bit the bullet and bought a Benzin Trainer. After a few phone calls and the help from your posts I opted to buy from Joe Howard. He was very helpful in answering my questions and very prompt in returning my emails. The scale fuse will have to wait a few months (blame Uncle Sam) but I should have the heli ready for it's maiden flight for the MayDay Heli Fun Fly. If "Mr. Gasser" Bill Meador is in attendance I'll ask him to set it up for me. Ahhh life is great!!!
