YOU DA MAN

Thanks to all who replied, but Alfred gets the prize! Don't ever believe it when someone tells you that the order doesn't matter when making up lan cables, it does. I made up a new cat-5a cable as Alfred suggested, and the offending station happily complied! Now I have to come in this weekend and re-wire everything....talk about a love-hate relationship!
Thanks to all, and thank you Alfred!

Send me a round trip ticket & buy me supper and I will personally fix it all up for you at no additional charge. I have been doing network cabling since the teletype went the way of the doo doo bird. No way in the world will somebody entice me to put male connectors on the end of a solid wire. I learnt from experience many many eons ago that it causes nothing but grief, aggrivation and a very unhappy customer in the end.

I lost my infamous tag line.

I don't know if this applies, but how many clients is the Window Server 2003 licensed for?

Thanks for the offer, but I need to pay my penance for using all that solid cable!

Sar
It's licensed for 20 stations, but even still, I had not brought all stations on line at once at the time. When I changed to the old switches, all came on line without any problems. I thought there might be a restriction in the switch somehow, but there isn't. It looks like the cabling is the problem. Thanks for thinking about it though!

Alfred
I'm putting you in for a raise!
