Hello guys, What batteries do you all use on the Joker? Also is there any thread or website that illustrates how to build the battery rails? The manual is kind of blank in this area and has mistake in the building process throughout. Not a big deal just needs a little fixing. Still lvoe the heli (so far)

Thanks

I build packs for a number of the guys flying Jokers and like to use the battery caps that Minicopter sells... I can send you some of the finer points of building packs this evening when I get home...

The best batteries IMO, are the LiPo's probably... But they are expensive... The batteries I use are the Panasonic Ultra Metal 3000 & Gold Peak (GP) 3300... These are both very good NiMh cells and I regularly fly both cells with great success...

Give me a shout at twguns@comcast.net and we can get the info you need...

i just put together a pack of 32 GP3300's this morning...

this jig works great:
http://wsdeans.com/products/jig/index.html (6 at a time)
with these bars:
http://wsdeans.com/products/bars/index.html

i use a Dean's Ultra plug on one end (to the ESC)
and a set of Sermos connectors on the other end...
(and the minicopter battery rails)

use at least a 40 watt iron and try not to hold it on the cell for more the 5-6 seconds...

Cheers.....Jeff

Yep that work super except for the Deans connector, eeegh!!! You used the best connector for a switch, why not use it at both ends???

I have a 16cell jig/fixture that I made to do the batteries and use the probar-3's... 40w iron, 12ga silicone superflex wire and sermos connectors... I use the Minicopter battery caps and o-rings from McMaster carr to hold it all together... Don't use heatshrink as it just holds in heat... The o-rings come in a pack of 100 for about $6 and will last a long time even with normal replacement occasionaly...

Dumb question here but I must ask. Is it better to chanrge the complete "pack" together or only a few at a time? For $5 per cell I have to know.

I just need to get off my behind and buy/build the battery pack and get the Futaba 9C. All ready to go....

I have to stop buying guns and start completing the JOKER!!!!!

Thanks

Nevermind on the charging. Dumb question. I still need to buy the cells. Who has the best prices out there?

GP3300 trouble

I got on set of 16 cells done but I am having problems soldering them togehter. The Deans solder seems to be tricky. Am I doing something wrong? The solder seems to leave this "oil" when solding.

Any help

Thanks
