Hey Rick, here's the pic! (click on it!)

Actually, that sort of looks like a police lineup, we need to get one with all the OC/UC heli guys!

And AJT, that's a sweet raptor you got going there, can't wait to see it in the air. Oh what a crime I cannot help but rhyme!

And sorry about the buggy mike, I coulda sworn I was going to clear that fence, but that's the same reason I quit flying planks

Wow! Nice! Thanks for the picture. I made it my desktop for now, and sent it to a few friends.

Don't give up planks Jon. They are fun in their own way. I still hope someday I can learn to land one! LOL

Hope I see you Sunday.

Anyone have a spare speed 400 motor they want to sell, I just smashed my wood blades last night down at the Rondout club.

Apparently lost the elevator servo connection, was spooling up ready to go into hover, when I noticed I had no front/back control, dropped it immediately but it tilted forward and BAM. So I need a speed 400 for my Zagi for the time being. I always check my control throws before spooling up, but right before I spooled up I got distracted and forgot about it :/ Just a set of blades and 2 ball links from what I could see though.

Thanks PETE, MIKE:
For triming out my new RAPTOR (first flight). I even got to try a hover about 30 seconds. A little nervous though. I should do better the next time out! I checked the needle valve setting on the high end and found it was almost 4 turns out. I think I can start turning it in a bit. That could be the reason the heading lock kept searching. Just read a thread on that. Too rich of a run can cause that. Also read a thread on the co/p. It said if I mix channel 2 EVEVATOR too channel 9 SPARE it will take care of the glich when the co/p is used with a FUTABA PCM raido and no buffer needed. Gotta give that a try. Nice pictures JON your right it looks like a line up! LOL. I'll have the HELI out sunday hope everyone is going. Ed is suppose to bring his new PLANE for a first flight should be a fun day. JON we tried too get a hold of you WED but you never answered your cell phone. So we had lunch without you. I even picked up the tab! SORRY you missed out! Will see everybody soon. RICK glad you found us.

Upcoming Sunday

Hi everybody! I am planning to be out Sunday with copter, DuraPlane, and maybe one or 2 others. Hope to see you there.

Jon, I have a motor from an old electric. It's a 380 size. Will that help? I'll bring it on Sunday.

Congrats Al on your 1st run up/hovers! I'm sure in no time you'll be flying circles around me.

Thanks again for the line up picture Jon. I have it on my desktop for now! LMAO

Great looks like O.U.C H. (Orange/Ulster County Heli) is going too catch on! The more Flyers the better. The one good thing is that 80% of the guys fly planks as well as helis. No problem there. See you SUNDAY rain or shine.

I love the name O.U.C.H. Not only describes the group perfectly, but also the feeling we will get when bad things happen. ouch.

Yo

I second the O.U.C.H. thing!

Lets just not get into presidents and all that stuffy AMA hierarchy crap, just fly under that name and make sure to communicate with the members. Let the old farts worry about that AMA local government stuff and we could just fly. We are in the wrong age bracket for that...tee hee hee.

Who's printing the t-shirts?

Flippin' funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For an unofficial group of guys known as a heli group, AMA is not needed, if we want a field of our own to fly at, then AMA is a very important part of that and should not be disregarded, it's actually a great bargaining chip. I'm sure everyone has their own opinon of the AMA, but it is necessary if we want our own field.

I appreciate the friendlyness and graciousness that our hosts at various field have shown us, however they went through the trouble of becomming AMA clubs to protect themselves, as is shown by our need of AMA to fly at them. If we find a field to fly at, we need to show the same level of responsibility to ourselves and those around us.

As far as president, vice-president and all that stuff may go, I'm just after the video/photo/web department if things decide to unfold in our favor

At the high school we are covered by STATE FARM INS. Two million dollar policy. And is very cheap compaired too AMA. Our coast is $68.00 a year for the club. (not per person). They will cover up too 50 or so members for that fee! which is MUCH less than AMA I beleive AMA is about $ 48.00 a person. Our club has around twenty members. AMA would have coat us $960.00 (20 members @ $48.00 ) So it's easy too see we saved around $900.00 dollars this year on AMA dues. Our cost per person was $20.00 bucks. (This year only.) Next year it will be membership divided into $68.00. We choose to due other things with the extra $$$ like a cook out or a night at the dinner as a culb get together. However I still carry AMA card so that I can attend AMA fun flys (ha ha ) not many in this area. So for the past couple of years I haven't used my AMA card. But never the less we are insured. The school has accepted the new policy with no problem. It actually covers us totally. The fact that no one has too use their home owners ins as the primary. Like AMA wants you too do. Pay for their insurance and use your home owners?? I don't get it!!
