First Heli I owned

Boeing Vertol CH-47A Chinook made in 1969. Had it for six months in VietNam till I had to come home, but it was mine. Ohh you mean radio control. It was a GMP Cricket #48 in 1980. The Chinook was way cooler.

Mike Mass invented CCPM, Inverted Flight and he did it all before 1980

my first heli was a kalt enforcer. it ran on a webra 32 and a JR 120 gyro. it was a great copter to learn on but it crshed do to a failing link. Im fixing it up rigt now to teach my friend how to fly and because it was my first heli that i could get off the ground.

My anger affects the way I fly. The madder I am, the harder I fly.

Schluter Superior

The first RC heli I ever owned was a Schluter Superior that I hung on to for a little without flying (scared! to fly a heli that old) bought it about 8 years ago and only hung on to it for a few years before selling. I think I remember seeing it for sale on eBay all fixed up and selling for way more than I was able to move it for. Kicking myself for this one =) Happy to say, however, there are so many better helicopters out there today with so many parts and much better support!

Lion Helicat was my first. Many years later and a few upgrades it's called a Century Hawk.

90's again, Ergo 30, then upgraded to the full 3D Carbon Ergo.
Went to Xcell after that, first one was the Carbon Custom 60.

I still have the Lion and it flys just ok, just needs a new ring for the ASP32 engine.

The Xcell Carbon Custom 60 flys perrrfectly as well.

Concept .32 SE

This had foam filled plastic main blades.

I recall converting it to weighted wood blades, upgrade fever ....

Transmitter was a Futaba "Super Seven" PCM

Gyro was a mechanical Futaba (you could hear it running)

A RC American Revolution, in the late 70's.
Anyone know where I could get one now?

If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter.

This was my first. An old GMP Competitor Pro. My dad gave it to me a few years ago but I only flew it a handfull of times. He bought this when I was around 7 and I spent my whole chilodhood admiring it on a shelf

My first helicopter was a American RC Revolution. My Dad and I got it and built it. We had the Kraft RC single stick radio and Gyro. those were the days, reversing servos by disassembling them and rewiring the motor. My dad let me do most of the flying. This was in the late 1970's I was around 17 years old. We then saw the Schluter Heli-Boy. That helicopter flew very nice. I then built a Bell 222 with the Schluter Heli-Star mechanics. I still have the Heli-Boy and the Bell 222 and my dad has the revolution. I want to get the Heli-boy out of moth balls and get it flying again.
