Just use the four-servo swashplate mode. 70% is a good place to start with the three rate settings in the swash screens.
Make sure the ATV is set to 100% for all the CCPM servo channels (1, 2, 6, 8 I think). Set subtrims to 0, and then put the servo horns on. I have mine set so they are horizontal at mid-stick, but it wouldn't hurt to angle them up a little so they don't hit the main gear at min. pitch. If you can't find a spline that gets them all at the same angle, you can use a little subtrim as a last resort.
My pitch range is -9 to +14. You may not get that, depending on whether you have the long mainshaft. The pitch range you need will depend on the blades you use. I use 800 mm NHP Razors, which are a bit on the small side, hence the +14 max. pitch. +10 or so would be sufficient with the big Vario blades.
I use AUX1 controlled by the RD for throttle. When you go through the Learn-RC procedure, set the knob to the CCW position for throttle low, trim low. 12 o'clock position is trim high, throttle low, and CW is full throttle. I use sequence mode without the aux channel. For shutdown I let it sit at 40,000 RPM for a few seconds before shut off. 40,000 RPM is about where the clutch engages.
You can use throttle curves if you like, but you will need to set up a flight condition that lets you spool up to full throttle while on the ground, then switch to an idle up that has a flat throttle curve at 100%. |
