| I've been using the Deans antennaes for at least ten years, I've never had one break. The blue covering cracked on one, I peeled it off, wrapped some tape around it and used it for several more years. I eventually sold the heli it was in and it was working fine when I let it go. There isn't much in these center loaded anttenaes, just a small resistor from the looks of it. I have never had the solid wire part of a Deans break and I never support them. I prefer the two part Deans, I make a mount out of an angle with a grommet in it and screw the two parts together through the grommet. That little bit of shock mounting seems to stop the blue potting from cracking. I just bought a new Futaba 149DP reciever, I plugged it into the Deans already installed in the heli, and started walking, at 160 feet( the club has a measured lines painted for range checking so the measurement is accurate), I quite walking. As the saying goes, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I'll stick with the Deans. Seems like I saw one on Cliff's heli at the Worlds, I figure that if he can't cause one to break flying as much as he does, I'll never have any problems. |
