Never heard that one before. I don't really see how it can happen, given that the sides of the frames will act almost as guides to ensure it can't come off.
The reason I have been told by Revolution and Russ Deakin is that in some climates belt tension can change significantly due to expansion and contraction of the delrin pulley which can lead to slippage. The coefficient of expansion of the alu/cf main gear is much lower than that of the delrin, so it is more consistent. |
