I have the JR 8700 digital servo for my t/r. I have DS811’s for my other servos. My heli is an xcell gasser. My radio is the 8103.

I’m not sure why this is happening so I need to post this question.

With the Rx and TX off, if I grab my main blades and manually change my pitch (move the collective servo), this causes my t/r servo to move or twitch. If I unplug the t/r servo wire from the Rx, the t/r servo still twitches when I move the blades.

If I turn on the Rx and TX and move the collective up and down, my t/r servo also twitches and if I unplug the t/r servo from the Rx it still twitches.

What is causing this?

Do you have a linkage binding somewhere where the collective touches the rudder linkage, assuming the rudder servo is mounted up front?

Thanks, John Cadwell

No, the rudder servo is on the boom.

It's like there is some sort of voltage created in the DS811 servo's, when moved, that the 8700 picks up.

I know that doesn't really make much sense but the 8700 is moving because of something and there is nothing mechanically touching it. If I move the heli's boom rapidly back and forth, there is no movement on the 8700.

One thing I haven’t done is pop the link off the servo horn. I'm going to try that right now.

I took the linkage off the 8700 and the servo still moves. I can turn the servo all the way to the right and if I move the collective servo the 8700 will turn all the way to the left and if I move the collective servo back and forth, the 8700 will sit there and twitch. Weird! or am I crazy?

Are you saying that a servo that has no power to it is still moving? That is very strange. Are you sure you have the T/R servo unpluged? If it is unpluged your helicopter is Possesed. You need to send it to me right away
Very weird activity though.

OK - That's a new one...

So with all power off, and the tail servo disconnected, manually moving the collective (I'm assuming by grabbing the blades at the grip and twisting) cause the tail servo to move from extreme right to extreme left??

All laws of common sence say that's impossible! Do you get the same reaction when other servos (Ail, Elv) are moved?

I'd say you need to lock that bird in a closet before we read about you in the news!

Does it react when you say the name Christine??

I just checked and yes.... ail or elev servo movement makes the 8700 twitch too.

Sounds like you people think I'm nuts. The next step is to see if a servo that isn't attached to the heli influences the 8700. I'll check.

I don't think anyone feels you're nuts, but situations like this fall into the "defys explanation" catagory.

Does it do anything if you move the servos around normally (power on)?

When the power is on and I move the collective, it does twitch, even if the rudder servo is unplugged.

When the power is on and I move the cyclic, there is no twitch. That must tell me something?
