| It won't work. Gyros measure rotation, and collective control doesn't involve any rotation to measure.
The pitch and roll axes don't need gyros because the flybar does the same kind of thing a gyro does.
If you get the helicopter at the perfect attitude, it will hover hands-free unless the wind blows. Kind of like if you're holding a bowling ball in your hands, and you put a marble atop the bowling balll, if you get them lined up just right, the marble will stay put.
In short, the helicopter will maintain the orientation you put it in. But maintaining orientation does not mean that it will maintain its position - that's a much harder problem.
