My bird works great - I am using a Li 1200 battery which is great - good flight times

However, I need to upgrade the motor and would like to get the order right the first time.

Here is the question:

Please share your experience with the

370 motor (what did you have to change in addition (tail motor problem)

Speed 300 (same as above)

Orion motor

I am interest how each of these motors inrease performance and lifetime, how many tooth should I have 9, 8 or can I stay with the stock pinion , do I need to change the tail motor or will I not have any problems

Once I have all the posts I will summarize for future questions

Thank you

Also don't forget that a 280BB works wonders. Capable of more power than the Orion, ball bearings and replaceable brushes. More than the 370 and 300 but less than the Orion.

Use with an 8 tooth pinion and the stock battery or 2xlipo. Can use a larger pinion with seperates.

Another option to consider.

I have a brushless setup and it was worth every penny, but then again I fly my HB several times a day and dozens of times on the weekend so it was easy to justify. The power has allowed me to get out of some sticky situations that none of the brushed setups would have saved me from.

I'm currently using the Speed 300 6V. The only problem I've had up to now is that when the battery is getting flat the tail has trouble keeping up, but once the tail starts failing the battery is too flat to get the heli off the ground 30 seconds later so it's not an issue.

Flight times with on a stock setup with a 300 are about 5 minutes worth of hovering. Forward flight would probably be much better, but it's too windy to try at the mo!

All in all, for £6 I can't complain. Had about 10 flights on it now and it shows no sign of degredation yet.
