All I want to do is to be able to fly G2 with my JR 8103 radio with the settings on the radio controlling the heli. Now I guess I'm somewhat of a blockhead because I can't get it to work properly.
I downloaded the latest version with the new interface calibration(ver.586 or whatever) the calibration screen tells you to use an Airplane model on your transmitter??? whats up with that? I guess I'm just used to the CSM working fine without all this adjustability.
Do I have to have an airplane selected on the screen when I calibrate with an airplane model in my radio?
Do I then have to shut down G2 and switch to a helicopter on my radio and then start G2 and switch to a heli?
I'm about ready to throw in the towel and send the interface back and get a dummy box.
I'm not the brightest bulb on the tree, but the instructions on the new interface calibration wizard are not clear about what to do with a helicopter. The three college degrees that I have tell me that I'm not a total idiot but this G2 sim is sure making me feel like it!!
What do I need to do if I want to use my radio but use the settings in the sim to control the heli? As I see it there are three ways to control the heli(1)with the dummy box, (2) with the interface and using my radio and my radio's curves, etc., and (3) using my radio but using the software's curve's etc. What do I need to chhose under the calibration screen if I want to use my radio but use the simulator's software to control the heli?
Thanks
Vince

G2 Questions?

I can't answer all your questions, but, I might be able to send you in the right direction. First, you're not a block head, myself and probably many others have trouble understanding the instructions with RF.

Be sure you are in PPM (FM); as far as I know RF won't recognize PCM. (unless that has changed with the update.)The new radio wizard is actually a great improvement, it allows you to pick your radio from the drop down list. That's what I did and it worked like a charm.
When each channel appears just make sure that they move in the right direction.

What RF should have said instead of "pick an airplane" was "pick an aircraft" that would refer you to the type of aircraft you want to fly. It's up to you,if you want a heli pick that mode for memory# 1-8 or 10 whatever your radio supports, your choice.

So, whatever you choose, that memory spot will be for that aircraft type.
I don't know if this is making much sense but there you have it. I know you need more questions answered, but, start with that and see if it helps.

OK it seems that the governor was making my throttle servo go from 18% right up to 100%, so I turned that off and I can get a linear response from the throttle servo. I have the advanced navguides up all the time to see what the servos are doing and what pitch I'm at.
I recalibrated with a fresh heli model in my transmitter in ppm( as I had done before about 20 times)
Could someone else with an 8103 please write down what their settings are in the calibration area? It would eliminate a lot of guessing for me and of course you would need to have the latest upgrade(.518 or whatever)
I get so frustrated with this thing that I have to walk away from time to time or else I'm gonna end up smashing this new 21" monitor. My frustration goes back & forth between the sim and myself as I can't decide on which one to blame.
The whole calibration process seems so counterintuitive, like they didn't give the sim to someone without any knowledge of it and see what kind of problems they have with the whole setup process. How hard would it have been to provide the settings for the three big radio mfgr's for helicopters?
I better go because I can feel the anger buildingand I already had my workout today after the attempt earlier today to get it to work properly.
