I now have a second heli. Do most of you just buy another flight pak? From what I have been adding up it is almost the cost, just shy of another complete radio system. I have the Futaba Super8 PCM. Thinking of going with the 9ch Futaba FM for $429.00 Thanks

I have had Concept 30 for 15 years. It has airtronics rx and servos. I sold the transmitter which was very outdated and kept the servos and rx. I finally got a PHI Hurricane 60 and a Airtronics RD6000 on the same channel as the Concept 30 and use that for both helis.

I now have 4 heli's.. 2 raptor 30's, a Nexus 30, and a Concept 46vr.. The Nexus and one raptor each have their own radios, because that is how I bought them used.. but I purchased a Futaba 9chf, and plan on putting all radios on one transmitter, and sell the other 2 to offset the costs. I'm new @ flying heli's, but the 9chf seems like a really nice system.. to me anyway.. I also put a CAMPACK on my 9chf just in case I want to play around with different setups for the heli's.. so now I have 14 model memory.

I'll keep my Futaba 8uaf for my planes, since I don't need a lot of mixing other than elevons/flaperons and v-tail.. So I went from well over 8 radios down to 2.

Another Radio Pack?

If you have money to burn, eyes in the back of your head, go for it.
If not don't buy another flight pack, its just more expensive pieces that will eventually get accidently left behind somewhere because you'll be walking around with one radio in your hand and the other lying about.
Do buy another reciever and battery, those new Sanyo 2700ma-A size batteries are really good. Buy some servo's and a gyro for it and you'll have 2 heli's ready to go at a moments notice. If you try swapping parts constantly you'll regrett it later on when the screw holes start to loosen up.
That's my take on your predicament.

I have a Rap 50 and a Rap 60 and I use one radio for both. Less to load up in the Van. Also I like being use to the feel of the same radio.

flight pak

Ok sounds like a second flight pak is the way to go. Should I get the same channel crystal as I have in my 1st heli or get a diffrent channel? I have channel 14 in my 1st one. Thanks Rick

The big advantage of buying components instead of a flightpack is you can get exactly what you want. The heli packs usually come with 5 of the same servo. Choosing my own fligjt pack by component lets me optimize each servo for the job. Powerful collective, fast tail......

Thanks, John Cadwell
