| Hi Guys, I have a question about this YS engine. I have it in my Hurricane, I have never run it, the engine is new, only been run very little. When I got it I did not get the correct YS check valve with it, I bought a Dubro check valve. I have installed it in the exact distance YS recommends from the back plate, it is pressurizing the tank , I think to much, you can see the tank swell after a few seconds of running. My problem is, the engine will not run unless I turn the mixture screw almost all the way in, leaving it out 1/2-3/4 turn, and it doesn't run well. When I shut the engine off, the fuel runs out of the carb until the pressure is gone in the tank. It is flooding, I suspect when it is running too. I took the regulator apart, looked for a bad diaphram or dirt, didn't find anything that looked suspucious, I've never had one of these engines, I'm usually an OS guy. Could my problem be the Dubro check valve, I figuired pressure was pressure; maybe the YS valve somehow does not allow as much pressure to build up in the tank? Any ideas?.....Coop |
