| HI Paul,
Like many of the MA team pilots who fly contests, I looked at the Fury a year or so ago and saw a killer good sport/3D model, but prematurely dismissed it as unsuitable for smooth, contest flying. "Too twitchy, too jumpy, etc, etc, etc." This past late summer and fall, after flying a friend's Fury, I realized that the model was entirely suitable for contest work. It offered the tight control loop, bomb proof reliable components, light weight, and affordable price that I was looking for. I had concerns about CG shifting with the tank up front, but they have proven to be unfounded. I had flown ProII's for several years, and I won a Nats with them too, so I have nothing bad to say about that model, either. I was looking for a change, and the Fury was on the cutting edge. My first Fury has proven to be a wonderful model, and the second one will be complete in a week or two. I have no regrets in making the change.
Should you decide on the Fury, I can fill you in on the little things I did to optimize the model for contest use. Whether you choose the Fury 60 Expert, Fury Extreme, and Fury FAI (still in the R&D pipe), ALL of these model are fully capable of the smooth flying for which you are looking.
