When I landed the idle was quite high, then I hit engine cut, nothing happend!
Now I can't get it to start.....................what gives?

fuel problem

based on what you are describing, it sounds like fuel starvation, I would check all filters and screens, even a drop of water could restrict flow thru a filter. good luck

Especially the filter under the plate on the Carb. Mine bocked and the G23 wouldn't start.

Evan, did you remove and discard the throttle stop screw?

I know this sounds pretty basic, but did you make sure it would not shut off without the servo hooked up? If you close the throttle and remove the air, not much will stay running. Fuel starvation is unlikely. If the throttle is closed all the way, and it still is running, the motor must be getting air from somewhere. It may not re-start because of the vacuum leak. I would think if the cause were fuel starvation, then it would not have enough fuel to run ,once running. Does it stay running if you choke it with your thumb?

Evan,
Check for wear on the butterfly. I have seen the butterfly get worn from up/down vibration so you cannot shut off the airflow completely.

It sounds like you are getting an air leak somewhere.

Let us know what you find.
Thanks,
Malorie

Sussed it!!

I found out after removing the engine, what the problem was...

one of the fins on the fan was missing!! also there was only one of the bearings holding the clutch shaft that was the right size!!
This in turn was the cause of the breakup of the two top bearings on the crank...........therefore leaking air!!

Thank you all for your assistance.
