ALWAYS engage idle up if you are thinking of doing a little inverted hovering after entering a loop Obviously, I forgot to do this today and my heli (Raptor 30V2) kissed mother earth in a bad way for the first time in 28 flights. Oh well, at least in those 28 I got to learn nose in, loops, rolls, stall turns and a bit of inverted hovering. Looks like it's going to be a crash kit plus some landing gear when it's all said and done so I can't complain too much.

Perhaps this was somebody upstairs telling me that it's time to finish up my Raptor 50V2 that's been sitting on the bench?

I did the same thing Saturday, flying my Rap 50 around in
normal and forgot idle up, pulled up and over inverted then hit neg,
at first I thought I had a flameout since it was so quiet.
I zeroed the collective and flipped it upright preparing for a forced auto heard the engine revving up again and realized what I had done
I try to remember and check but occasionally forget, kinda like checking
to make sure idle up is off after doing an auto before turning off the hold
sw.

I use normal, for start up, tracking, general setup.

Idle up 1 is the same as normal except for head speed @ down stick, so I always go to idle 1 before take off. Head allways stays @ speed.

That leaves idle 2 or 3 for 3D set up.

Most radio's have normal, idle 1, 2, 3.....use them......

A couple of weeks ago I landed in Idle-up and as I throttled down it started shaking and the engine really picked up and Im like what the hell is going on until the light came on that said your in idle up dumb a@@.
