Having a few Nitro Helis, including a Vigor CS, I got the bug to try a Micro Heli, after browsing that section of R.R. A senior member had a Hummingbird advertised that sounded like a fair deal. So like a dumb ass, I didn't investigate the price of a new kit, and assumed that this retired major was an honest guy, sent him a cashiers check for $320.00. I recieved the heli and was trying to get some smooth flites in when the worn out pinion gear failed. Ordered new parts, including drive gear, only to find that they didn't fit. It seems the model I had bought is very old. Then I just ordered a new bird for around $70. When it arrived, it became very obvious that I had been screwed by the Major.
The heli was a patched together wreck, with worn out parts. I could have bought new stuff for 20 dollars more than I paid for worn out and patched up stuff. So in the end, I have $ 620.00 into my Hummer. I should have known better than to think everyone is honest, but I try to think that most are.

I know the feeling

I bought used from someone on this site. Being new, when I recieved it I was all excited, looked close and found a crack on the frame that had been repaired. The guy said he knew nothing about it, yeh right. Took the winter off ofcourse, this spring found out the engine is finished and now just found out the gyro is no good. The weather just started getting good here so I am getting someone to set up my heli, he tells me about the gyro. I contact the seller(David) he says after all this time I am nit picking but yet when I contacted him the 1st time about the frame he knew nothing about it. He would have never done anything about it in the 1st place. I will voice my opinion ever chance I get.

Thanks Mr Gambill for a great transaction

I am not slamming anyone here...bought mine used as well and had one good flight before the motor went south on me...but you know? we bought used.. I am happy with the buy, love the heli, but did not expect a new heli...if it was deceit then something needs to be done to make it right in the short time after you received the item, but yeah after a whole winter you cant expect anyone to fix things after that long. As I found out after I bought mine the stock motor does not last long on the Hummers.... Jeff.

I agree

I agree the winter is a long time, I hovered it once for a 2 seconds then surprise ruff landing. I am not asking the guy for my money back, I was hoping he would compensate somehow. Read my post" $300 for a Nexus" in this forum, then let me know what you think.

Heli-Man, ..........The Ad has been removed. It was advertised with a Swietzer Body ( which it had ). The bottom line is, I was suckered. My
fault for not checking the details, and trusting to get my monies worth.

Won't be buying used anymore, especially at new prices.

Sorry to hear that!

Don't give up on buying used because there a lot of fine people here with REALLY nice stuff to sell you and everyone else! When in doubt throw up a post and ask about that individual and look for higher numbers of posts clearly doesn't have many of them.I am not saying that all high posters are perfect but they will do what it takes to make people happy because they spend a good amount of time here.If I was you I would get a PayPal account and use a credit card instead of a bank account. If you have any problems with a deal just challenge the charge through your credit card bank and they will freeze payment. What ever you do don't give up on RR we are all here toegther!

Sorry to hear!

Reggie,

Sorry to hear about your transaction troubles. I had a dealing with the same guy in the past, and can say the transaction was smooth, and the product exactly as he described! Have you tried contacting him before making your post? There must be some cunfission/lack of details here, because HU seems to be an upstanding kinda guy!

Regards,

Jarrett

OK. If it weren't for an old friend from Canada and a previous satisfied buyer of mine, I wouldn't have know that "Reg" had any problem. He seems a little confused, as he bought a Skylark which is what I listed it as, not a HummingBird. The Heli was shipped in fully operational and flyable condition with no crash damage, a programmable Futaba TX and all accessories as listed in the ad including two Kokam Lipoly flight packs.

Several days after shipping his goods, I got the following e-mail from "Reg" and BTW the only communication I have received from him since the transaction.

Hi Boyd
Got the heli last Monday. What a riot! Had to replace drive pinion gear, other than that, it's been great.

Thanx..........Reg "

So I am at a loss to explain except that the deal offered was fair and now suddenly I'm a Black-hatted bad-guy. Too bad you didn't contact me directly Reg . As far as being a low #'d poster, if you care to check E-zone and RC Universe, I have in excess of 1100 posts most providing technical help and of course a few that carp on about patent and copyright infringement matters. There are always 2 sides to every issue and this is as far as I am going defending myself against an unprovoked and slanderous assault.

Cheers - Boyd
