bergen is def one of the best, vario makes a big gasser, good stuff also, you cant go wrong with either one, the bergen is about the same cost, and has aluminum everything head tail hub, control arms, its a very good ship, but like i said vario makes as very good ship also.

Bergen's Twin I think is about as big as they get as far as production machines. The Twins fly great, I have flown a bunch of them. VERY solid 16lb machines running 810s, have TONS of power and are very light on the sticks. When you puch it with one of these monsters they will make your heart stop. They are scarry fast. Can't wait 'till I get to 3D one.

Bergen twin was the biggest one that came to my mind. airfoilhelicam is coming out with a monster 60cc gasser with 1050mm blades, but it is an "industrial" heli purpose built for carrying camera equipment (25 pounds!).

That bergen twin is pretty big. Not sure I like the Helicam but that is why im looking for large heli. I want to carry camera equipment on it.

John,

The heli photos that daggit provided and the one shown in the news paper clipping looks identical to the Vario Robinson which utilizes the Zenoah RC230. Is it?

We have worked with that particular helicopter and with Vario USA being our neighbor, we are familiar with their products.

If your looking for big heli, check out the Yamaha link that MikeDD provided.

YESSIR!!

Got the parts... the digital camera you recommended ROCKS!

I sent you an email (to airfoil). I'm sure you're probably home for the holiday weekend but I need get another tilt servo for the camera mount as SOON as you can. I had repaired it but the tilt servo quit again. I believe I have mounted the digital camera to far forward and overworked the tilt servo. I need to balance it better by moving the camera back a tad.

UPS will be fine...

I'm afraid that servo has been subjected to worse abuse than just moving the camera up and down.

remind me to kick that pilot when I see him

I was just lo0king at that bi9 son-of-a-gun in the newspaper clip. Wowza.... I know you're a seasoned pilot but don't you get a little rush flying an R/C heli that friggin big?

I was trying to visualize how the redundancy in your heli works. The back-up servos are hooked up and functioning at the same time as the main ones? and if one fails it just pushes the failed one?

The other cool thing is the battery charging. Saw someone else doing that too by installing a generator/alternator on the end of the motor shaft. Do you make it so it charges ALL batteries or just the downlink/gyro unit?

I was thinking it would be nice someday to have a generator to run the 12v portion of the camera rig for my own setup, and maybe tap into the 12v to run the pan and tilt also.
