Dang. I just spent three hours trying to find out what a "point" is

I'am glad you have three hours to ponder on a word that has the letters transposed . wow where do you find time to do anything else besides trying to figure out mispelled words ????

Listen guys,

Spollin mestakes haf bean tHe catalist four thE evelution off inglish langwage.

Typing that was hard work but it makes sense. As a Brit I keep coming accross new and interesting spellings which, in the UK would be wrong but correct in the US, it really depends on what is the accepted spelling in your society.

Some (including me in the past) would call it the bastardisation of a language but it really is just evolution. That's how English became the language it is.

BTW incorrect common contractions REALLY get on my ****, it's not right ANYWHERE in the world!!

cratercreator,

You are obviously a youngster, so I'll be gentle...

This is NOT a chat room. Nobody is in a hurry here. We all come to read, relax, enjoy, and perhaps learn something.

You are not dealing with fellow teen-agers here. Most RR denizens are adults. If your posts look like they were written by a child, they will either be ignored; or worse.

I am sure that you have the best intentions, and want to be a productive, accepted member here. That is achievable. This is a pretty relaxed, tolerant bunch, and nobody will flame you just because you are a youngster. The fact that you have made some pretty inane posts the last day or so, and haven't been toasted yet that I have seen, is proof of that.

My point is that good spelling and grammar DOES matter. It matters here, and it certainly matters in real life.

By the way, not every one here shares my opinions on this. Do what you have to, and have a large time.

Honestly, who cares?LOL

There is sometimes I am very tired(usually all the time) and I type at a rate of 120 wpm's so by the time I have recognized that I fut-up **** I am not going back!It was always like my mother said, "the president isn't coming over for dinner" so why do we have to be perfect for a person who probably is an English teacher?I don't know about most everyone here but I hated English class and I think that was a very long time ago.Now I do agree that there is some terribly unreadable posts like from non-Engrish speak'in folks but I don't think there is a translator in Mark's budget. Now there are some people like that dude 1UP that might have had one to many dives below 300ft but we can still understand him (barely) If we all learn how to speed read we will have less to read, thus less headache!JMHO....

Who said anything about perfect english???

All some of us are asking for is a bit of proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

And I'm not an english teacher; but some of the posts around here would be better conveyed via smoke signals...

Whatever. Actually, skipping over the incomprehensible ones means I spend less time on this 'puter...
