| I got a Hirobo one, check my webpage on tandems too, lots of links to homemade projects at the bottom. let me know of any more twin stuff you find.
the main problems with the Hirobo vertol for this idea are the transmission and blades. no one else makes blades for it now, they are a small chord semisym blade great for hovering but not for aeros. the transmission is a belt drive between the two rotors, not the best for rapid throttle or collective changes. you could probably loop it ok with a lot altitude but rolls would take all day and wouldnt be level.
if you wanna build an aerobatic tandem or twin you will need to have a bullet proof tranny, atleast an arrow shaft or tailboom diameter drive shaft that will not twist. I wouldnt worry about disc strikes if you have the transmission for it, there are fullsize helis whose rotors sweep through each other and work just fine, its the tranny.
then change the rotor heads! |
