| As im new to the Hummingbird some of you may already be doing these mods so please forgive me if im repeating other peoples statments.
Today i had the oh so common problem of having a blade strick and taking a chunk out of the back edge of one of my blades. As i did not have a spare i decided to try trimming the back egde of the blade off (an old piccolo trick),ill try to explain how much i took off. From the outer tip i put a mark aprox 2mm from the back edge, then at the other end of the blade where it mounts measued up 10mm along the diagonal edge from the back edge of the blade, ran a peace of tape along the blade and joined my two marks then cut down this line with a pair of scissors, did the same with other blade and tried to match a best as poss.
WOW,what a difference, obviously cus the surface area of the blade has been reduced it has less drag, more head speed, and once you have tweaked the blades a little to add some pitch it hovers so much more stable!!!
Also cus there is less drag the tail motor gets an easier time and seems to have more control,i also removed the vertical fin from tail and this also helps the tail i feel.
One last thing,a main shaft locking collar also imrpoved stability no end.
Thanks for taking time to read, hope its clear enough!
