The OS #8 is the standard plug for this engine. I have had better luck with the Enya #3 though. It is a little hotter and allows me to richen up the bottom end some and that helps with the midrange.

OS #8 is a great all purpose plug, but the most expensive. I use an A3 (warmer, for this weather and cheaper). You can also use an A5 (cooler and cheaper) in the summer. At least for NY temps.

Well I got the A3 but I live in florida, and at this time of year its around 75-80F, will this be alright or will I need the no. 8?

Stick with the A3 unless you have any troubles, which I doubt. But, being in Florida you may want to switch to the A5 (cooler) in the summer to avoid excess heat.

Ok thanks, I did have the A3 but after around 1/2 a gallon it blew, and won't glow anymore. It was a kind of brown color, so I am trying the A5. What could have caused the old one to go out so fast?
One last thing, this is my 100th Post!
Thanks again.

That is normal. Nitromethane glow plugs are very fussy and intermittant. They could last a few flights or a few hundred flights... Improper engine tuning (too rich or lean) also will contribute to fast death of your plug.

OK, It was slightly brown and I was running the engine rich to break it in, could that be what it is? And also after 1/2 a gallon do you think I could start to lean it up a bit now?
Thanks

I had a OS #8 plug go out on me on its first flight. The engine was producing good smoke and was running well. When I took the plug out it was still shiny, but it just didn't glow at all. All my other #8 have worked flawlesslely, I guess that one was just a dud.
