I just bought this battery not even to weeks ago. I have it for running my field box panel. But it'll not holed a charge. is there something wrong with the way that I wired it. Is it possible that the wood is drawing power.

What are you using to charge the battery? Did you charge it before the first use? Are you sure you don't have a slow drain on the battery somewhere?

You probably just got a bum battery. Same thing happened to me a while back. Just return it and get another.
As far as the wood discharging it? I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure wood isn't conductive. Probably not the cause of your problem.

Wood isnt conductive, but any condensation is or some of the sealers that are nitro proof are. A DVOM should tell you, but you most likely just have a bad battery or charger that isnt up to the job.
when i first starting flying i had that same setup.i noticed that my batterys were also draining fast and didnt stay up to par.i was going though battery's left and right wondering if it was the wireing job or what.to this day i still cant figure out why?? so i got another setup and that wood pile o **** sits in my garage. might want to look into another set up.

Are you starting all 90 size helis or 50 size? I put another 12 volt 7 amp hour gell cell in parallel with my main 12 volt gell cell when I start my 90 size heli with a Sullivan Dynatron.
How many starts are you getting per charge? If you are trying to start a 90 with a standard size Hobbico starter, you will have better luck with a Sullivan Dynatron for 90 size heli.
