I think it should be fine but you should consider running an external BEC.

I use the Scorpion motor on 6S but using 13 tooth pinion. Have 18 flights of sports flying and no problems.

I wish I could fly 24/7

My stock ESC quit after a few weekends with the Scorpion 1600. Luckily it wasn't in the middle of a flight. It didn't have any signs it was going out, it just didn't work anymore when the next lipo was plugged in for another flight.

Take a look at Medusa or Hercules BECs. I wouldn't touch the CC BEC with a 10 foot pole. I had one and it is the only BEC I have been able to consistantly cause brownouts on the bench. I know some people use them successfully, but its not worth the risk IMO.

If you expect to pull more then 60A with the scorpion motor, you should get a higher rating ESC.

As for the external BEC suggestion from other poster, it doesn't even make any sense. When it comes to switching type BEC, it's either going to work or not work. How many amp you are drawing through the main motor control FETs has nothing to do with the BEC operation.

I'm running a 1600 scorpion with 12T for sport and light 3D. So far so good. I hit 45 amp peaks with this setup. I"ll probably switch to a hv45 at some point when i start romping on the heli a little harder. I've heard the hv 45 is good to peaks above 60. I also have a CC BEC which i have run on a .90 glow, .50 glow, .50 electricl plane, and the trex 500, no problems in any of them ever. If anyone has any they don't want that still work, please send them to me, i'll pay shipping.

I run a ccbec and had one go out but the new one I just got runs great we have one on my brothers trex 600 and one on my raptor 50 as a voltage reg. I say go with them. I talked to the guy at castle and he said that they had some ones with bad wireing but they now have caught that and are sending out the new ones which was like a month ago so they should be all good now.

Personally i trust and have had good experiences with castle CC BEC.
Both of those look like no-names which i don't trust right of the bat. Maybe get the one you like most and stress test it (hook it up to some old servos and give inputs while resisting the servo movement with a weight or your hand, and stall the servo and see what the BEC does.
Quals for new equipment is pretty common in full scale avions. When i set up my helis, i cycle all the servos about 100 times to try to catch faulty servos in the beginning of their life. There's an equipment failure curve that predicts most items fail shortly after installation or after long service life, not very much inbetween.
