Golly gee! Some bright engineering student figured out a way to fly a camcorder on an R/C helicopter!.... and it made the DV Show video cast!

Click on the "Camera Ship" link at the top right of the page.....

I like the part where they fly around in a 360 circle!..... :-)

O.K... I apologize. I'm a bit punchy from watching this circus that is going on in the House Chambers.... with an overlay of the Dow Industrial average... One of the talking heads probably nailed it on the head when he called it "Kabuki Theatre"...

I know it is nothing new really, but what they have accomplished is still remarkable.

To integrate CARVEC, Bergen Turbine, Copterworks Gimbal, and all the associated electronics is pretty damn cool to me. To top it all off their footage is also great.

Hey - I recognise some bits on that heli.

The helicopter must be the one cyber-flyer (Val Petrov) was building in this thread:

http://www.runryder.com/helicopter/t360940p2/

The bit about the guy building it himself by hand is a bit of a porky and I don't think it was paid for by a grant.

That's the first time I've seen any video of it : it's an impressive machine for sure.

I was so impressed by the pilots ability to preform a 360 degree turn, wow, that musta been really, really hard!

Sounded like he was trying to take credit for designing the airframe also, "I built this over a years time..."

Anyone want a pet rabbit?.............I found him on the road dead and I'm tired of hugging him

If you cannot do a 360 with your heli don't say it in a promo video, man.
It's like recording terrible footage and writing "HEY, PILOTING A RC HELI IS HARD"

LOL!

I cannot do a 360 nose in, at least not with that confidence...
