Hey y'all, wanted to tell you about a chopper a little under the horizon that totally rocks and is affordable. It's the Pantera from Audacity. I've been wanting to get into the 50 class chopper for a while, but am on a budget. I'd outgrown my 30 sized heli, and wanted something that I could hot rod, and not spend a fortune. I got it with this helicopter. The kit comes in preassembled sub assemblies, and goes together in less than 8-10 hours with experience. It has an available big block kit so you can put up to a 91 two stroke in it. Mine has the OS 70, and it is a vertical rocket. I maidened it today, and was blown away by it. I found my kit online for 299, free shipping. That's dirt cheap for a 50 size heli. Parts are, dare I say, cheap! I may sound like a salesman for Audacity, but I am not. I am just so excited to be able to join the ranks of the 50 sized pilots without spending twice as much to get in. For the price I paid for the kit, I was able to go for the bigger powerplant, and check in at about the price of the other guys chopper. Check it out, just google Audacity helicopters. Support is second to none as well. Cheers!!

Sure... here are the pics I took just after completing her last weekend. It has some really nice features for the money. If you're the guy like me that is really comfortable with all phases of FFF, and are ready to move on to some 3D, but don't have the scratch, this is worth a look. I bought one after seeing one at our new fields opening a few weeks ago. The chopper with it is a Venture 30 CP. I got that about 4 years ago when I was working in Horizon PS. BTW Rich... I would love to have a Vibe too. I was looking at them trying to find a price I could afford. Gotta get the nod from the misses, you know. I was on a budget, and the pantera fit. Here is a link to the chopper on Genesis's site. It will take the Hyper 50, 61, 70, and ys91 has been made to fit too (61,70, and 91 take the BBC kit). Lots of mods and upgrades out there. The Audacity link on here has a lot of good info too.

Screw that!

My Knight 3d blows all your helis away! It has better quality than the Pantera, Cheaper than the Vibe, and fly's better than both!

wthford, Congrats on your good find. I know if it's anything like John Beech, it'll be a great heli.

Thank you sir. I know guys... we are all attached to our helis. That's what it is all about. Some of us just have deeper pockets than others. Mine kinda shallow at the moment. Hope this economy improves soon.

Vibes are very nice choppers. I don't recall ever saying anything bad about them...

Oh, yes, JB has been very helpful through my build in getting me what I needed to git r' done.

I was just excited after coming home from the field tonight. With that 70 in it, it's a lot of chopper. Wanted to share. I could do it in the Audacity room but it would be preaching to the the choir.

Actually, I wanted the 600 nitro. But, I sure couldn't afford that. I was getting kind of discouraged and thought i would be stuck with the Venture for some time. I sold one of my planks to fund my heli addiction, but even then, it only covered half the cost. At this point I have about a grand in it. I'm not poor by any stretch, but on a budget. It has an Aerospire MPG governor, an OS 70SZ-H, Mavrikk blades and muffler, and a G500T gyro. My radio setup is nothing to brag or blow about, it's a 8103 JR with 8411 servos, and an R700S receiver.

Anybody know where there's a money tree??

I've been looking at the gas choppers. I have a buddy that has an old ergo gasser. I may try to talk him out of it one of these days. Otherwise, I need to hit the lottery or maybe a rich relative will leave me a large sum.

BTW, here is a vid of the Pantera in action. Pretty awesome. It's got the 91 installed in it.

I helped a guy set one up 6 or seven years ago. Do not set the head speed below 1700 of you'll learn what's bad about ground resonance. We survived it because i was able to pop it up to hover and hit hold to auto it gently back down.
I've had two Spectra G's, only one that I flew and it was TERRIFIC but not the cheapest to get started with. I think the Predator is maybe the most affordable Gasser for performance per dollar spent. Bill Meador "Billme" on RR is a damn good rep for them and has the WORD on them.

Fly whatever turns your crank, don't be influenced by anyone...

Vibe? I happen to fly with a Vibe guy and I own all Align helis, both helis fly well, so does the Knight. Fly the hell out of it and give us some feedback

I'll do it. I've done really well with the fiber injected kits. I've had a few of them. Can't seem to get up the cash for the fancy carbon fiber models. But, I do have carbon mains.... 3 tanks through it so far. Nice and smooth. Definately plenty of power with the OS 70 in it. Thanks for the kind words!

nope, it's honest. How do I know? I did the same thing. I think there's something in the package when you open your Pantera that makes you want to shout at the world how much you love it.

Doesn't work on sheeple, doesn't work on braggadocians.

I've not missed anything. I see them all at the field all the time. Just can't afford one. Again, maybe I'll hit the lottery soon. The vibe is a very nice chopper. The 600N is a very nice chopper too. Those were the two I was looking at when I bought the Pantera. I know one other guy here that flies one, and I was overall impressed with some of the features, and the price was definately right. And, to boot, it flies very well.

If I get back in at Horizon one of these days I'll own a Vibe. Very nice discount when you work there. In PS, they had a comp account too. That was nice. You got 50 bucks in it every month you worked. Their thinking was that it would help you to buy the product and know it better. Pretty sound thinking. My comp account was usually empty.... :|

BTW, what's "plug"?? I think I've missed that one.

Oh, and so far, I do love it. Very decent chopper for the money.
