Ever since I met and became friends with Jeff Scholl and Adele we have all talked about how great it would be to get some low level aerials into Architectural Digest and how perfect the perspective would be.

AD is pretty much the pinnacle for architectural photography and as such extremely difficult to get into.

Well I just wanted to post these shots and congratulate Jeff and Adele for breaking into AD with some of their amazing low level aerial work.

Congrats! You do amazing work and I always enjoy checking out your portfolio.

Jeff, this means you have officially achieved the status of "helicopter whisperer" Adele, this makes all the waiting for the perfect light worth it right?

Grab this months issue to check it out:

Thanks Tabb and all for the kind words!

The nice thing about architecture is that it doesn't move. Wait for great light and something should happen with a pocket of 4Gig flash cards.

Cheers,
Jeff

Excellent on two counts! The images are great and now the editors are aware of what your doing! Hope more assignments come down to you from it.

Hey Jeff, great shots, and thanks Tabb for pointing it out. I just checked out the article. Its great exposure but I was a little disappointed that David Marlow got bigger print credit. Whats up with tat?

The last photo is superb!

"I was a little disappointed that David Marlow got bigger print credit. Whats up with tat?"

AD has in house staff photographers that get most of the work, and Marlow is on top of the A-list for the rocky mtn region.

"The last photo is superb!"
This one?

Cheers,
Jeff

Yip, A-list photo right there. Let me know if you want to "Bump" David (Him) "Off" the top of the list

Again, nicely done Jeff.

Actually it doesnt surprise me to know that. Jeff, you are truly a master at AP, and aerial video as well. Your location definitely benefits from being shown through your lens. I am awestruck every time you post one of your latest images.
Know that you are one of the best out there and you give AP a great reputation! It is a credit we can all look up to.
Many thanks.

Thanks all!

"how many lights did you rig for that last beautiful twilight shot?"

I used 5 can lights around the deck and 2-3 Calumet 750s (modeling lights) around the base of the bridge. The 750s have dimmers built in so it makes the process a bit easier, but still the lights look a bit hot around the concrete now that I look at it again.

Cheers,
Jeff

Thanks Jeff. Last question. How do you power them? Do you Photoshop the power cables out in post?
