e-Electric Batteries & Chargers > How to make my own battery packs?

Hi there,
I was wondering whether anyone out there makes up their own battery packs for electric flight (I fly an ECO 8 and a Hornet).
How do you connect your cells together. The pre-made ones seem to be spot welded in some way.
Soldering seems to be out as to get the battery terminals hot enough for solder to stick would probably damage the inside of the cell.
How's it done?

Any ideas....?

alot of the commercial packs are spot welded.

If your going to solder them, you need a powerful iron w/ big
tip (in the 60-100w range). The secret is to have enough
heat reserve in the tip and power to get the packs soldered
very, very quickly w/o dwelling which is what heats the cells and
damages them. If you try to use one of those 'pencil' finetip irons,
you'll never get a good job out of it.
