I'm sure Futaba just has to put that in there for liability reasons.
I think they say that about all their receivers (but we still trim them anyways).

It's in all their radio manuals somewhere.

in the 7C manual:
Quote 
Receiver Antenna
It is normal for the receiver antenna to be longer than the fuselage.
DO NOT cut or fold it back on itself --- cutting or folding changes the electrical length of the antenna and may
reduce range...

in the 9C manual:
Quote 
Receiver Antenna

in the 12Z and 14MZ manual:
Quote 
Receiver's antenna
Never cut the receiver's antenna. Do not bind
the receiver's antenna with the cables for
servos.~~~*Cutting or binding the receiver's antenna will reduce the
radio reception sensitivity and the flight area, causing the
crash.
