For some reason, I have a lot of small brown spots on my muffler.I look at all the pretty heli photos on here and wonder why this doesn't happen to anyone else or, how do you get them off without scratching the polish of the muffler?

Thanks.

I use mother's mag polish to shine mine. On really hard stains, I use a fine grit wet dry sand paper and take extra long in polishing. That reminds me, I need to do it again.

Man, I miss the eighties.

oven cleaner will remove them, but not good for the alloy apparently, but I used it on an old dinged pipe to try, worked really well, then I rewashed the muffler in warm dishwashing/water mix and left to dry, quick buff and all sweet, 1 year down the track and it still looks like new, other than the massive dent.

if ya not crashen you aint tryin

Cheap antifreeze and a crockpot on low for a couple hours, it will come out good as new.

Don't eat out of the crockpot again, I use a yard sale pickup that cost about 5 bucks, use the cheap, un environmentally friendly, green antifreeze and don't breathe the fumes.

This is an aluminium polish keeps all ally parts nice and shiny!

dirty muffler

Hey guys, I was in on a little secret from one of the flying buddies. He always has his muffler looking like new and wondered how.

Well turns out he broke down and exposed it....... He uses Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Sponges $7.00...... The shine....Priceless!

You can use Mothers mag polish after stains are gone to get the max shine.
