I've recently turned into a BIG fan of the JR 770 w/3500G rudder servo. The Gy401/s9257 from Futaba is another good choice.

the dx6i will work fine. The gyro will plug into channel 4, and the gain lead will plug into channel 5. You'll then control the gain (sensitivity) using the gyro sens screen in the radio.

Ahhh ok im slowely getting the hang of this gyro stuff . decided after the crash to put a decent gyro in . so is it worth having a rate gyro in it or is it pointless,,

Stick with a good quality heading hold gyro, the 401 or 770 are good choices or if you want something better, the Spartan ds760 is exceptionally good, and compact and lightweight as well.

The 401 is very beginner friendly. It is easy to setup and works great even when everything isn't quite perfect.

A heading hold (or AVCS) gyro is definately worth buying over a rate mode gyro no matter what your flying abillities are.

770T and DS-3500G works really good! With the correct settings, the piros are freaking fast and stops impecable! Also the tail holds consistently during fast backward!

GY 401. I've found the 770 a little difficult to setup.
