| The 2.4 GHz systems are much less susceptible to interference than a PCM or PPM system. Not only do our helicopters not generate noise in the 2.4 GHz band (unlike the MHz RC bands) but the vary nature of spread spectrum allows the system to truly ignore most noise sources.
Unlike a PCM system which can cover up an increasing noise level from the heli itself from, say, a bearing going bad until it's "too late", the 2.4 GHz system will never even "hear" that bearing.
The 2.4 GHz systems also protect you from Joe Schmo turning on his transmitter on your channel and taking out your PPM or PCM receiver.
So, I would say the short answer to the question in your title is, 2.4 GHz. And, the short answer to the question in the body of your post is, no.
