How lucky can one get? after a day of flying i removed the canopy and out fell a small locking nut, turns out its from the lower jesus bolt, has anyone had this problem?

THE NUT DID COME OFF IN FLIGHT AND IAM VERY LUCKY THE BOLT NEVER BACKED OUT .

You've been lucky. We place a lockring on the mainshaft, underneath the upper bearing. If the lower J-bolt goes, all you lose is power to the rotorhead.

All I do is use loctite on the nut and make sure the bolt threads are short so the smooth shank is in contact with mast and freewheel inner race. While the main gear hex recess is great for assembly it also allows a bolt to vibrate out of a 'retained' nut which has less than ideal locking friction. Think about it, if the nut tension/friction backs off the bolt and nut cannot spin as a unit. This applies to all models with a hex recess in the main gear and includes the R-90.

Clean the parts. nut and surrounding shaft, with alcohol.
LET DRY
Cover with goop.” Remain flexible and if you need to remove just pull hard on it.”

If use on a servo screw/ arm combination, you will see that you can actually turn 3 complete turns before Goop let go.
Don’t take my word for it.
