Thunder Tiger Raptors 30-90 - Imperio > RAPTOR 30 Telebee Dual rate gyro flashing LED

I did not pay test the tail before flying this morning. Took off and the heli spun around 3 times before I got it down. Shut down the engine and the tail servo as non-responsive. Pulled the cover off the heli and inspected the wires and nothing seemed to be pulled off. Looked at the Gyro LED and it was flashing about 2-4 times a second. Turned off the heli and back on and it initialized fine.
I can't recall if I let the gyro settle or not when I first turned it on. Does the gyro kill the output if you don't let it settle or might something else be wrong w/ it and I need to trash it?

This is the Telebee that came out like 8-9 years ago and I did the tape mod back when I got it back then. Had not had a problem till now.

Not a big fan of the Telebee and have only used one once on a small elect, not even sure it wise to put one on a 30. But to answer you're question is sound like the gyro direction is reversed. As for the flashing LED, not a clue (sorry). There must be a Manuel on line.

If you go to the other site (Helifreak), and look up Bob White's videos, he has one on the setup of the telebee.

If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter.

Nothing is reversed. When it was flashing, the servo would Not move AT ALL.
Cycled power on the Rx and let it settle till the gyro made the servo blip and LED turned solid, then it was fine. Did my gyro test and it was fine (hold heli by the head, spin counter clockwise and look for a clockwise rotation correction in the servo)

I think I know what happened.
I recall turning my heli on before the Tx. I went out the the car after work and tried it. Sure enough, If I turn on the heli first, the Telebee flashes continuously even if I later turn on the Tx. The Tail will not work at all at that point. I don't think I ever knew this and maybe I was just more careful before. I've been flying Electric helis and fixed wings lately since I only have about 30 minutes before work to fly or my lunch breaks. This morning I test flew a new Electric and then pulled the Raptor out. I think I was in a hurry. Gotta go back to the discipline of doing a control surface test like I normally do.

got me thinking that I want to upgrade to a HH gyro though soon.
The HH gyros on my small electrics hold the tail so good in flip flops that I want to get one for this bird.
