Jeff has made a good point.

Helis don't take well to ratchets in the TX.

Do you know how to take out the "click stuff"?

I would try his suggestion, but you also need a "read" on your headspeed.

I thought I would:
#1 take the clicker off,
#2 reduce the pitch curv.
#3 reduce the throttle by 5% if I can figure out how.

You guys are great,
Thanks,

I think you have something wrong in the head. Check/Replace the rubber bushings on the spindle. Make sure things are sliding smooth as you increase/decrease pitch.

The problem you're having is the exact same problem I'm having with my 450SE V2. I've chased that rabit for a while now thinking it was a glitch or something with the radio, ecu or motor. I finally took the V1 head I have on my heli-max and put it on my V2. The dam thing flew perfect with the V1 head. I've looked at that head every way you can and I see nothing wrong, but going to replace the rubber o-rings and see what happens, (I've just got to order them first).

My 600 lifts off just as smooth as silk and very stable in a hover, If you're down my way, we can put my head on yours and see what happens, I'll bet you're problem goes away.

HW

To answer your throttle question,

If you're flying in "normal"

Position 2 and 3 are say at 70%,

Try 65%, and CAREFULLY see what you get.

Heck, I'll make it a point to come up your way if it will help.
I'll contact you later to see when is convenient with you.

First I'm going to try the recommendations here. If no progress, I'll be on the road.

Thanks !!!!

Wayne,

Be careful.

You've got a bad a$$ heli.

Do you have someone there to help you?

Dabbling CAN be dangerous.

Way2slow has LOTS of experience. I'd be taking him up on his offer if you can.

Mike, yes I have Expo on on throttle.
I hate to say this, But I'm a damn good Plank, as you call them, pilot.
I have a Carden 40% Edge, Carden 40% Cap, Aeroworks 40% Yak, QQ 33% Python and more and I can hang with the best of them in the 3D arena. BUT--------- This Heli thing has got me by the kahoonas. I can't get enough of it and I fly every day. It is a real challenge and very rewarding. And if I can get these curvs thingies right I can move on to the next step.
Yep, I know it's a Bad A$$ bird, thats why I got it to learn on.
Believe me, I will take his offer of help. Learn with the best you cannot go wrong.

OK, turned the clicker upside down and adjusted the tention on throttle stick.
Cut the throttle down 5% as per.
Adjusted the pitch curve to give it 5 degrees at #3 and 6 degrees at #4 . Bird still lifts off the ground @ the #3 position on the throttle.
On initial throttle up, the engine sounds good, BUT, I land and go up again the engine is, as one said, "cooking".
I am still in normal flight. No guts to go to 1 or 2 until I get this streightened out.
Six flights so far this morning fiddeling with this thing
Going back out at 10:00.

You want to hover at mid stick.

6 or 7 degrees.

3/4 should be about 9 degrees.

Right?

Also, If you're climbing vs. hovering at 6 or 7 degrees,

THEN, you know you want to lower your headspeed.

For a 3D set up you want mid stick to be 0 degrees. Hover occurs at about 3/4 stick.

H.Wayne S,
I fly a Raptor but I am using the same radio as you (9303). I understand the issues your having at or below hover because I went through that. I fixed it by "flattening" the pitch curve at or below hover. I hover a point 4 (66%)on the pitch curve which is 5 to 5-1/2 degrees. By adjusting point 3 (50%)to 3 degrees instead of zero degrees, I increased the "resolution" meaning more stick movement, less pitch change. Now, I am able to lift off, stop and hold a hover 1 inch off the ground if desired, and landings are super smooth. Try it, it works for me.

Try not. Do or do not. There is no try
