Need a little help. I have a Trex 600N Pro, and a JR X9302 2.4.
Just got into heilies and am doing hovers, forward and slow backwards flight. My problem is in hovering and landing.I cannot land this thing smoothly and softley unless I go to throttle down.
It jumps off the ground on liftoff and slams down trying to land.
Hovers are po-go like, one throttle click and it goes up, and one throttle click down it goes down, and I mean hard.
My pitch curv on normal is; Throttle on normal:
L-26% L- 1.5%
1-35% 1- 20.0%
2-45% 2- 40.0%
3-55% 3- 55.0%
4-65% 4- 71.5%
5-70.5% 5- 85.5%
H-75.5% H- 97.0%

Expo on AILE and ELEV - +30%

I have gone from one extreame to the other.
Can the ratchet on the throttle be removed, and would that help?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Wayne

have you put a pitch gauge on it? check your pitches with a gauge and tell us what degree + and - you are running at low, mid, and full stick.

heres my pitch curve in normal- for my 600n
L-35%
2-37%
3-50%
4-75%
H-100%
Idle up 1&2
0-25-50-75-100
as far as the ratchet, your Tx should give instructions how to remove the spring clip to get rid of the ratchet.

You MIGHT have too much headspeed.

Do you know what it is at take off?

mmike- you think +5 at mid stick is too much? looking at his curves, hes -2 at low and +5 at mid. thats 7 degrees on 1/2 stick. lots of drop with short throw.

[quote]mmike- you think +5 at mid stick is too much?

I'm guessing headspeed, are you talking about pitch?

yeah- above post shows pitch gauge reads +5 at mid. dont know about headspeed or throttle curves yet.

My 600N is not something I take my eyes off to see EXACTLY where the stick is at take off.

Just a hunch, 1/2 throttle with the hyper is "cooking" pretty good.

im just thinking, when i go from norm to idle up 1, my mid stick settings are closer to 0 at mid stick. +5 should cause flight, i dont lift off till about 5/8 to 3/4 throttle. im gonna have to go get mine and pitch it so i can see.

Great! I'm all ears!

Again, headspeed too high = sensitive takeoff and landing.

Don't know my head speed but the engine is as you say "cooking" at lift off. Will a regular prop tach work on a heli?
All curvs are linear. As straight of a line as I can get.
Just went out in the front yard. Lift off is about two clicks above mid stick with my pitch curv.

So lift off is at about 5 to 6 degrees?

It's not safe to be that close.

You MIGHT want to CAREFULLY cut the throttle about 5%.

See if it calms down.

I JUST did this with my 600N.

Again, make sure your not going to "air stall".

heres what ive got-
norm = -4,0,+9
idle 1- -10, 0, +10
im only using 4 degs collective @ 1/2 stick, he's got 7. im just thinking it would be harder to make a "soft" landing with so much colllective movement in a short throw. i dont disagree about headspeed, but i think it may be a combination effect.

Dave

I agree.

I DID suggest dropping the throttle as a "speriment".

Why does your throttle have clicks? Take the transmitter apart and get rid of them. Problem solved!
