does anyone have any ideas on how to install the governor sensor on the T-Rex 700? There is not enough space to mount the supplied bracket.

I mounted mine using the standard included bracket, it fit fine and works great.

Did you mount it so it reads off the clutch bell, or did you somehow put magnets in the fan?

Magnets on the fan and sensor mounted inside the frame in the standard mounting holes. Went in quite easy, but I do remember looking at it thinking "is this going to work?"

I heard there are no holes in the fan for mounting magnets is that true? Did you have to drill your own?

No, there are machined holes for the sensor and the magnet, plug and play in my build. The kit comes with Align's governor, I was able to install my GV-1 in it's place, the same way, with no modifications or much effort at all.

I just posted another post in another forum, but do you prefer your GV-1 over the Align governor? Reason I ask is my 700 will be here today, and I still fly the GV-1. Wondering if the Align is an upgrade or not?

The Align governor works really well but I prefer the Futaba, has more options and seems a bit higher quality. But for $50, the Align gov can't be beat.

Do you not mean mounting the magnets in the top of clutch bell? I didn't know there where mounting options anywhere else, would have save me a few hours work if I'd known that

I used my GV-1 sensor in place of the Align sensor. I did make sure that I was able to get an adequate reading on the sensor but it works great! My GV-1 sensor is reading off the clutch bell where I installed the magnets.

docjoe- my kit did not come with the align governor. Looks like the align governor comes with a metal bracket, is this the bracket you used? Or did you just screw the sensor into that plastic piece I installed on the inside of the frame?

I just screwed the sensor to the frame. You don't need to use the metal bracket which is usually used to secure the sensor to the motor mount (to access the magnets on the fan). However, because the magnets are on the clutch bell, you should try to make sure that when setting up the sensor, that the GV-1 can sense the magnet. My readings were about 85-90% sensitivity.
