Not trying to bash him, I would just like to know how a presidential candidate could select a vice president after only talking with her once or twice in his entire life. I do believe that her political views would be a great addition to the McCain administration, however I question both his merit, as well as her experience in United States politics. Regardless of the outcome of this election, I can only hope, pray, and wish for the best for our country.

I'm a Obama supporter but that being said I have come to the determination that we (as a country) select the person that will win and not the person best for the job. This is probably what happens every year but after the last 8 I've really paid attention this time. And it's true with both sides, Dems and Repubs.

I believe that is what McCain has done. I have to say it is a good strategy. The people (like my mother-in-law) that want a woman in there no matter what, will vote for McCain now. Not to mention the "milf" vote will go to them as well.

thats just more CNN bull****. I watch watch all the news not just cnn or fox or whatever and although both are biased i only see one that makes **** up.. Palin was basicaly chosen or pushed for mccain based on thousands of requests/votes because of a guy that made a website about palin see here http://www.slate.com/id/2198949/ Of course they wont show that on CNN because they would rather try to make it sound like he just picked someone out of thin air.

This is from your article

"But, for the rest of us, there's still no change. McCain doesn't get it, calling this broken economy 'strong.'

Wich is not what mccain said. Instead of directly quoting the guy they take the time to leave words out that entirely change the meaning of the statement and if people think what he actualy said and what CNN is quoting him saying is the same thing then why did they change the wording??? it would have been a simple copy and paste.

This also from the article

An Obama spokesman had reacted to the announcement that McCain had picked Palin as his running mate Friday with a statement that called her "the former mayor of a town of 9,000, with zero foreign policy experience."

OBAMA HAS DONE ABSOLUTLY NOTHING BUT TALK

But her experience and connection to McCain is under scrutiny

yea only by CNN and dems that are pissed there is a better choice for sure now.

That is easy.
If McCain/Palin wins, McCain only going to run one time.
This puts Palin to Hillary in 2012 and puts a end to
the Clintons.
Very smart move if you ask me.

It was a straight political move by McCain to sway the Clinton defectors onto his side. As it is, 27% or so of Clinton supporters are already voting to McCain, while a few more are undecided yet. McCain think he can get those undecided Clinton Feminist Democrats to come vote to him.

Only problem is that most Democrats are Pro-Choice while Palin is Pro-Life and very conservative. Its a very risky move by McCain, but he thinks it can win him the election.

Why else would he pick somebody with even less experience than Obama!!!!

Guess experience doesn't matter anymore in order to get the vote!!!

i just want to know how experience is defined... Obama hasgoverned NOTHING.... Managers at mcdonalds have more governing experience than Obama does. Now if you want to talk about Knowlage (book intellegence) obama probly has more of that.. something that could be picked up by anyone who hangs around trying to get elected long enough. All i see when i see obama speak is VERY carefull wording to try to please EVRYONE. Hes a puppet until elected then he will do what he REALY feels. He's basicaly doing what most guys do to try to get down some chicks pants... say what they want to hear.

No comment on McCain or Palin...

But wow, man. This is the LAST guy who I thought we would ever see START a political thread.

see here:

In his 2nd post, though... I agree 100% that RR needs a political section for those who want to discuss politics. This is really getting ridiculous. You can't even see the "off topics" anymore.

I agree that Obama does lack some experience, as I voted for Clinton, but now endorse Obama. But one thing I do know is that the man is highly intelligent, getting a Law Degree from Harvard, and being the first black man elected to head the Harvard Law Review.

He could of easily of picked to work in a law firm right after his graduation making a six figure income, but instead choose to work in Chicago's slums and worked his way up the ranks to where he's at now fulfilling truly the American Dream. If you ever get a chance watch his biography. He truly does have an amazing story.

When McCain saw the cover of the latest Vogue magazine, I'll bet he spit his Wheaties all over the breakfast table.

Now that's HOT!

Speaking for myself, I am not questioning his intelligence or his success. In fact I applaud him for that.

Its his liberal views of expanding government and raising taxes in any fashion whatsoever to fund them. Thats the Liberal ideology, and what I object to.

You libs object to the cons ideology. Thats fine.

What I find continually distasteful here lately is the libs here will take a guy's 5 1/2 years in a prison camp and distort it to the point of making an outright traitor of him, and expounding on it to make him appear as though his service back then was nothing, in fact worthless. That simple fact takes these guys opinions on any of the issues we are discussing here and dumps them into the garbage, ruins there own credibility, and proves beyond any doubt in my mind that they are the real cooke fringe lefty's this country needs to be seriously concerned about.

Yea, I do have to admit, politics has become somewhat of an addiction in a way, but oh well... My biggest issue of political threads is the bashing and insulting that goes on.... That's not political talk... That's just hate and dissent towards each other. Oh wait... that IS political talk! just kidding... I guess I just don't like seeing fellow hobbyists divided because of political stuff. And yea, I still think that there needs to be a separate thread for politics.
