Off Topics > Obama's speech was horrible, says right-winger

Oh wait, that's not what Pat Buchanan the extreme right-winger said...He LOVED IT!

Pat Buchanan has seen many of the great speeches of our time, but he says of the speech... "The greatest convention speech and probably the most important. This came out of the heart of America and he went right at the heart of America. This was no liberal speech at all, this is a deeply centrist speech."

Why, oh why are there not more honest Cons in this country?

See the historic speech here...

It was a brilliantly delivered speech, no one argues that.

And the point is...what?

Making a good speach and running the USA are two different things. I could care less how good a speach somebody makes.

Ya think because he can make a good speach qualifies him to be president? Thats pretty lame!!

Lets review the qualifications again.

A good speech just means a good speech writer in the background.

Lets review the qualifications again.

John McCain Congress = 26 Years
Military = 22 Years

Barrack Obama Congress = 143 days
Military = 0

Just think how great a professional of any kind you could be with only 143 days of experience!!!

People want change so badly? . . . . maybe we should lower the experience requirement for doctors, lawyers, airline pilots, etc. This would cause some change!

Obama's 143 Days of Senate Experience

Just how much Senate experience does Barack Obama have in terms of actual work days? Not much.

From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United States Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory Committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working.

The one single Senate committee that he headed never even met -- once.

After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World, and fill the shoes of Abraham Lincoln, FDR, JFK and Ronald Reagan. Think about it.......143 days -- 20.4 weeks -- 4.7 months...

Our children spend more time in pre-school getting ready for kindergarten.

Lincoln served 1 term in congress Freak, 1 term and had no military experience. FDR had no military experience as well. Why is it that the really stupid ones are always CONs?

Maybe it's about time that we get someone in office that hasn't been totally corrupted by the political machine!

I don't know if Obama is the right choice, but I KNOW that McCain is deifinitely NOT the right choice!

Geeze, I love it when they get so mad they turn pink ...
Calm down sellerman before you pop a blood vessel. This is only a discussion, it's what we do in a free country !!

The 143 days is days worked in the senate until he announced his candidacy for president.. Not how long he has been a senator.

Heck, I thought Obama's speech was loaded with the same old crap with Bush bashing we have heard for the last way to long. But, I suppose he had to do that in order to seal his lib base.

He really pissed me off with the comment about McCain not chasing after Usama Bin whatever in his cave. I had to leave the room during that one. Uncalled for, and very crude. Maybe that was what he was after. Who knows.

But, the guy has an entire adult life history of some very shacky people he has chummed with for many years. Those issues are going to be show cased over the coming days and weeks. For myself, I don't care about his race. The race issues are what the libs bring up constantly. Not the cons.

Its amazing that the libs pic someone that, other then being a slick orator, has little or no experience in running any portion of government. Even Sarah has many more qualifications to fill the position Obama is shooting for. And she is only going after the VP slot.

On another note, it was historical in the USA in that a black guy got to the point Obama is. That does say a lot of how far America has come. But, when Nov 4th gets here, that may not be enough. We'll have to see.

Lets review the qualifications again.

Yes, lets:

Article Two of the Constitution sets the principal qualifications to be eligible for election as President. A Presidential candidate must:

* be a natural-born citizen of the United States;
* be at least thirty-five years old;
* have been a permanent resident in the United States for at least fourteen years.

Yup. Looks like he's qualified.

Give me a break. Everyone preaches this "experience" but face it, it isn't always a good thing. We've had experienced and in-experienced presidents in the past not all were good, not all were bad. I've heard of people not getting a job because of too little experience and I've also heard of people not getting hired because they were over qualified. So maybe McCain is over qualified and shouldn't get the job either.

During the Black Hawk War, Abraham Lincoln of New Salem, Illinois served three enlistments.

His first enlistment was as elected captain of a company in the 4th Regiment of Mounted Volunteers, of Gen. Samuel Whiteside's Brigade.

Lincoln re-enlisted on the same day he mustered out of his old company, and was mustered in on May 29 as a private in Captain Elijah Ises' Company, Twenty-Day Interim Regiment.

Lincoln's third enlistment was as a private in Captain Jacob M. Early's "Spy Company."

I've studied....

I've studied Obama and I've studied Lincoln.
Obama is no Lincoln.
Not even close.

Lincoln was not only benevolent enough to free the slaves, but he also had the wisdom to reckognize the damage that would be caused by "punishing" the south after the war.
He forgave the south and their were no post war punishments for the States that had joined the Confederacy.

Juxtapose this to Obama, who, rife with liberal rhetoric wants to tax the hell out of the "evil" rich.

Hell, up util this year his wife was "ashamed" of her country.

Argue for your limitations and sure enough, they're yours

Exactly. Comparing Obama to Lincoln is like trying to compare a lowly 2 wheel bicycle to a Lincoln Continental. There is no comparison.

I get a huge kick out some groups of Dems will actually have their picture taken with a shot of Lincoln in the background. Heck, it was the Dems that wanted slavery back then, and fought for it to stay to keep their plantations running. I think they called themselves something else back then. But, they were still Dems.

We all already know Lincoln was Republican.

Its incredible.

That ought to get em cranked up.
