| Most literature states that helical gears are the same efficiency as spur gears, 98-99%, but, most helical gears are made with more precision than spur gears (especially in applications like ours, where the user is apt to set up the spur gear either too loose or too tight and kills their efficiency. Therefore, in most applications, helical gears end up being quieter, and more efficient IN USE.
